「風に舞う歴史の天使」 History’s Angel Carried on the Wind

2013年より始まった「アラフド アート アニュアル」は、記憶と場所を問い直す現代美術の芸術祭です。2026年、本芸術祭は「アラフド アート アゲイン ― 風に舞う歴史の天使」として再び幕を開けます。会期中は、土湯温泉町内の旅館、公共空間、空き家、寺社など複数会場に作品を展開し、来訪者に土地の記憶と現在が交差する体験を提示します。 

今回のテーマは「風に舞う歴史の天使」。湯愛舞台で歴史の天使が想像力を新踏土させるのです。 私たちは、日々の営みの中で文化という素晴らしい「レガシー（遺産）」を残しています。 本芸術祭は、歴史の天使が見つめる過去の傷跡と、まだ見ぬ未来とのあわいに立ち現れる現在という瞬間の存在を見つめる試みです。 

Initiated in 2013, Arafudo Art Annual has explored memory and place through contemporary art. In 2026, it returns as Arafudo Art Again — History’s Angel Carried on the Wind, presenting works across ryokan, public spaces, vacant houses, and temples in Tsuchiyu Onsen Town, where the memory of the land meets the present. 

This year’s theme is “History’s Angel Carried on the Wind.” 

In our daily lives, we continuously leave behind a remarkable legacy known as culture. This art festival is an exploration of the present moment as it emerges between the scars of the past—gazed upon by History’s Angel—and the yet-unseen future. It is an attempt to contemplate the existence of “now,” suspended in the delicate space between memory and possibility.
